A Postscript on Rocks

We usually shortened this name to Cammimore. Geographically speaking the term Cammachmore isn’t quite accurate given that the village of that name is a couple of miles away from here and inland.

The Bay itself is large and quite sheltered from the prevailing south easterlies, although it’s a direct hit for any seas coming straight in from the east. The shore itself is a mix of boulders, rocks and pebbles and the water drains away from the landward fields in the form of a waterfall on the northern side near to “The Banks”. The original sewerage outfall for the village of Downies can be found at the southern part of the bay towards the Downies side. This outfall is no longer in use.
