This is one of my favourite names although I have no idea what it means or where its origins came from. I’m always reminded of the Batman television series of the 1960’s when I see this name when Batman (Pow!) and Robin (Kebbuck!) do battle with the Riddler (Crash!) or the Joker (Thump!).

This used to be a popular nesting area for Kittiwakes until they moved on to higher ground during the 1970’s and 1980’s. You will still see a lot of seabirds in this area – usually Fulmars, Herring Gulls and occasionally Shags/Cormorants near the waters edge.
