 Go around the headland to the south of Little Broad Shore
and you are into Meikle Broad Shore. I’m not sure about the “little” and
the “meikle” because both of these shores or bays appear to be about the
same size although I have to say that our favourite was the little shore
due to the abundance of wood and the variety of materials that would
wash up there. There was nothing to do within the cliffy “Meikle Broad
Shore other than pass on by.
Both names of Meikle and Little Broad Shore are not
commonly used today and are once again names that originate from the
1850’s, or maybe earlier.
