This is the northern most portion of a large bay and
consists of a large “shore” of mainly small boulders (no pebbles here)
and it covers the area from the base of Donald’s Delvings to a shallow
headland that divides it from Meikle Broad Shore immediately to the
south.
This was another of our favourite places for building
bonfires, due to the large amounts of driftwood that washed up in the
shore – there was so much stuff being washed up here in the 1970’s that
it was possible to have large bonfires there on a regular basis. There
was, and still is, a perfect flat and grassy spot within the shore that
made it possible to have the ideal bonfire site, in fact it could be a good camping spot too with room for a couple of small tents.
