We generally shorten this place name to just the
“Englishman”. This is a mini inlet/bay found at the southernmost
extremities of the Moat and is another good spot for lobster fishing.
Although there is protection from many rocks there is one opening that
channels any strong south easterly seas directly into this small inlet
so, in keeping with the area outside the Moat, it can become quite wild
in this general vicinity.
The name probably originates from the name of England
Farm which is located about quarter of a mile landward from this spot.
